As I stated yesterday, I had a crappy day on Friday.
Saturday, while happy I was home, I was still in a weird mood.
I'm not gonna lie to you, this wasn't a bad mood or crabby mood. It was more of a... resigned mood I guess. Just one of those days that you can't do anything about.
Nothing was cheering me up. Although I did have a huge giggle when I saw this picture (I hope Brian doesn't mind cuz I ganked it) and if you'd like to know more about it, head over to his blog.
I had just finished cleaning the house and was grouching at Mocha for leaving paw prints everywhere, when the mail dude came.
Now, I always respectfully wait for him to do his thing and leave before opening the door to get the mail. I do this because I don't want to chit chat about the porn mags they keep sending in Andy's name by mistake (just kiddin' Mom R.).
Anyway, I notice he has a bottle of water and I thought it was interesting cuz it's freezing outside. Then I saw he put it in our mailbox. So I was already saying "WTF! Thanks for leaving your garbage! @$%&%***%@$%@" in my head when, to my great surprise, it was actually this:
I would like to apologize to my dear mailman and his momma for the awful thoughts I had in my little head.
I received a Valentines Day message in a bottle!
Inside was a love letter from JJ Dy-no-mite Walker and chocolates galore! I ate the snickers and hid the hearts before Andy could get to 'em. The energy gum... PERFECT!
I was also sent the final pieces for my terrarium. A couple of little Mexi-Angels that will brighten my mini garden. One kinda looks like me! (especially the wings) ;o)
I would like to thank MS. FANTASTIC ELASTIC!! Thank you for lifting my mood!
I almost lost it again when I watched the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Come on man! They ruined the Oompa Loompas!
You be the judge:
Original AKA REAL!New AKA FAKE!
The songs are horrible and not singable at all! So yeah, I almost lost my good mood but then they had a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and my frown turn upside down again. The world can breathe easy, I'm back to normal(-ish)!
P.S.
Andy is now upset. He doesn't like to be upstaged.
Top that babe!

You shouldn't have opened a Valentine's thing before the day itself. You're goading fate ;-)
It's amazing what people send through the mail!
There's nothing wrong with remakes, but if you watched the "original" of something and liked it, you're bound not to like the new verson.
Dear Bee,
ReplyDeleteAre you really just getting around to watching the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? I guess that would be possible without children in the household making you watch every kids movie that comes out.
Like you, I have such a fondness for the first one and was outraged at the Oompas. I mean, they couldn't use more than one little person. Were there no others available?
I'm glad to hear you're in a better mood. And your little angels really are cute.
Love,
Tracy
watch out for that energy gum, Bee. It gave me gas. It could be an evil plot to cover the earth in a cloud of methane. oompa loompas probably have something to do with it
ReplyDeleteThe Oompa Loompas, no matter in what form, freak me out. So I go with the Chumba Wumbas off Family Guy.

I watch, giggle, and wish I had a Valentine as cool as the one you got!

What cool Valentine mail you got :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I didn't watch the original oompaloompa movie until about 5 years ago. A friend of mine kept telling me I needed to watch it because it's a classic.
What a freaky, weird and creepy movie that is. I wa slike this "????" the whole time.
Sorry Bee. I'm so sorry. Please don't beat me up.
I gave you an award btw.
ReplyDeleteI'm Ms. Fantastic Elastic.....and I approve of this blog post.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get bored with the stuff inside the bottle you can always resort to using it for a rousing game of Spin The Bottle with Andy!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to get you that shoe ornament in the worst way but I had to settle for the Mexi-Angels instead. I'm glad they survived the trip to the great Yankee north.
ReplyDeleteBrian:
ReplyDeleteYeah but this way I know I'm loved even on ordinary non-hearty days. ;o)
It's funny that NCS said the first one was weird and creepy because I can't watch it alone at night. For me, it's one of those that I can't decide if I like it or not but the new was a big fat NO.
Tracy:
Because I wasn't sure about the original one, I didn't want to watch the new one but I had nothing better to do so I thought I'd give it a chance. I hated that they used the same dude for all the oompas.
jean knee:
maybe I'll have it at work just in case! :o)
FADKOG:
I love that episode and am a freak for all the songs in Family Guy, one of my favorites is "Shipoopi".
NCS:
I find it weird too but there's something about the Oompa loompa songs that make me want to sing and dance. Okay, just sing.
Thank you for the award! :o)
EWBL:
Mmmm spin the bottle... does it have to be with Andy? ;o)
Thanks again Fantastic!
The original Willy Wonka is in my top 10 fave movies of all time. That being said, I still have a mini-freakout when they go through the psycho psychedelic tunnel thingie on the boat.
ReplyDeleteI like the Oompa-Loompas. They look like they smeared themselves with Cheeto dust. Mmmmm, Cheetos.
