If she bends over, you'll know what year she was born. Also, see a duck mooning the crowd.

We went to the Laundromat again on Monday. I think we all know how much I detest that place. Every time we go, something happens that infuriates me!

This time it was a stupid washer that didn’t let me select any other cycle other than ‘woolens’. Normally I would have just taken my clothes out and found one that had its entire workable buttons but the ones that weren’t being used, had little out of orders signs. I decided to just leave it there, what could go wrong?

Well, it turns out that the soap compartment wasn’t working properly and so my clothes received the same cleaning my uncle Ricardo gave himself when he was 10 and he pretended to shower by wetting the top of his head but not bothering to remove the dirt stains from his face.

The options were to rewash them which would mean spending more time in the demon’s armpit or just dry them and call it a day. My uncle Ricardo would be proud.

Next up, a lady set her basket on my table. Some of you may remember the near nervous breakdown that caused the last time. This time I remained calm (as calm as a teeny tiny raft on a raging river), cool (as cool as a walrus in a sauna) and collected (as collected as the hippo stamp)(I don’t know what that means either but I couldn’t come up with anything anti-collected). I decided not to say anything until it was time for me to use the table. When her husband went to move the basket without me having to say anything, I heard her say “leave the basket there”

It. Was. ON!

Unfortunately, she left the L’mat (that's what we cool non washer having people call it) to have dinner while her clothes were in the wash so she didn’t see me grab her basket and throw it on a washer. I told Andy “Don’t worry babe. If she comes in here and says something, I’ll take her outside!” but my Andy, being the kind hearted person he is said “uh Bee? She and her husband are both bigger than we are…” so I told my man he could wait in the car while I took care of them both.

I really thought she'd say something when she came back because she was also a Latina and I know I would have said something but she didn’t. She must be one of those higher plane people with normal blood pressure I keep hearing about.

Things at work are a little better since OZ is on vacation yet again. Boy, the economy hasn’t hit that dude one bit! Anyway, he still has peculiar requests when he calls. His most recent one was odd even for him. He wants me to Google ‘why we should send a refund to an insurance company’. When I asked if I may just CALL the insurance company themselves and ask them directly why they’re requesting the refund:

“No! JUST GOOGLE IT! I want a full report when I come back on Monday!”

Um okay? While I have my googler out I will also ask “why does my boss think google is a magic 8 ball?”

That man cracks me up. He cracks me up like a baseball bat to the head cracks me up.

We took my mom and Natalia to the Botanic Gardens on Sunday and while Natalia, my mom and Andy tanned, the sun left its mark on my scalp, chest, arms and feet the way a soccer ball did to my thighs when I tried to stop a goal (what a fun memory! The imprint of a half moon on each thigh was an awesome thing to explain to people). I remember being able to tan just by standing near a window now I have to cover up like I’m 106.

I love going to the gardens. I was happy to see that a lot of the plants/flowers they planted are the same ones I’m trying to encourage to grow in my garden. Sadly, mine got too much water earlier this year so they’re struggling but I’m hoping they come back healthier next year.

Of course, plants aren’t the only things you see at the botanic gardens.

duckbutt duckbutt2

There was also a woman in a sheer maxi-mini dress in 5 inch platform stripper shoes. I didn’t take a picture of her, even though I could have, because I worry about the content I put on this here blog. I certainly do not want to corrupt/offend anyone with delicate sensibilities so instead I drew a picture of her.

skank censored for your protection.

Yeah I know! Ewwwww!

So anyway, later alligators.

It'd be my pleasure to make your nose bleed. Just try not to get it on my shoes.

Alright already! I'm back! Stop with the abusive/threatening e-mails! ;op

I had a nice long weekend and I'm feeling a little bitter about going back to work.
I was this close [picture my index finger and thumb almost touching] to walking out of the Asylum on Friday. But, whatever. Let us not dwell on the assholeyness of all the people who inhabit my work world.

Let's see... what happened this weekend?
Oh yeah! I had a volley game with a moth. I got out of the shower and reached for my towel only to have a moth fly at me! I swatted it but it ricocheted off the door and came back at me. I spiked it but after its dive, it spun and then headed for me again! Was this moth on a suicidal mission? I think so! Hey! I would have left it alone if it would have flown in an opposite direction but it started it! What's up with bugs trying to show me who's boss?? I felt ridiculous so I thought I'd share.
.
Anyway, we went to the Chicago Botanic Gardens on Saturday and the day couldn't have been better! I could show you picture after picture of the beautiful views but I'll just show you a few and let you imagine what my paradise looks like. I can't explain the sense of peace that engulfs me as soon as we near the outskirts of The Gardens.

Andy and Natalia at the bottom of the waterfalls. This picture cracks me up because you can't tell where I'm standing when I took the picture. Is he looking at me or is she???

Do you remember this picture from last year? No? Probably only Brian will remember.
Here is Natalia using her lungs just like Tio Andy.

Don't they look cute? Even if one of them acts like a 5 year old and is a pain in the ass, I think I'll still keep him. ;o)

As always, after hours of walking amongst beautiful flowers and plants I'd like to smuggle in Andy's pockets, my scalp and nose? Sunburned!
.

On a marital note:

We were supposed to see the new Indie film this weekend but Andy decided to throw a Cheetos-like tantrum so we didn't go. I guess that punished us both.

On a books I've read in one day note:

Speaking of Cheetos, I finished reading a book this weekend were they were featured prominently. It's called The Host by Stephanie Meyer of Twilight Series fame. I loved the story but the writing still seems like it's aimed at prepubescent teens. I'm not saying it's a bad thing so don't get all huffy with me, m'kay?
.

On a weather note:

I think mother nature has finally decided to make it spring and stopped playing the "ha! I was just kidding here's winter again!" game.

AND LASTLY!!

On a movie you cannot miss note:

We watched Across the Universe recommended by my hippie brother Rick and you know what? It was awesome!! I'm going to buy the soundtrack after work tomorrow (if my shoes aren't too bloody) because the the actors' (and some surprise cameos) interpretations of songs I've listened to since I was able to understand what music was, were so unbelievably radicus that it's going into my iPod labeled as 'Crappy Mood Slayer'. Bono sang my coo coo ka choo song. If you see that movie, you'll not what that means.

.

You can slay your crappy mood by clicking on Humor-Blogs and checking out the talent.

So... as Scarlett said "Tomorrow is another day and I'm wearing my new fuckin shoes so it better be a good day or I'll have to wash the blood out of them once I kick somebody in the face!"* Peace be with you.

*she didn't really say all that but I'm thinking she would have if the censor people didn't have sticks up their asses.

.

P.S.

I just saved Andy from a vicious June Bug! His words to me, "My Hero!"

The Count likes to what??

Day 40.

So...
I had a craptacular day Friday and I don't have the energy to find the humor in it tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
Please watch these videos I found on The Poke Show.

You will never be able to look at The Count the same again!
The second one is some dude (or dudette) putting subtitles (wrong subtitles) on an Indian video. I dedicate that one to Jean Knee.

Bladdernuts! My Ruby crashed!

Day 2 in my long journey to reach 365 posts.
I'm feeling a little tired and... thirsty.
I just looked for the sun and it's not where I normally see it.
Andy says it's because it's 10:00 pm but I think he's lying to me. He's trying to keep my mental illness out of our everyday conversation but we both know it's sitting right under the surface, the surface of what, I haven't decided.

2008 started with a "BANG!" for me.

As in, I banged my head on the coffee table 4 or 5 times because my beloved laptop Ruby crashed! I resuscitated her but now I'm scaurd! I hope that wasn't a bad omen...

Anyway... now that the gift giving hoopla is over, I can calmly tell you about the greatest gift Andy has ever given me (besides Ruby). He gave me a membership to the Chicago Botanic Garden! I posted about my first visit there in July where I found out about Bladdernuts (no, that's not what you think! They're not edible...) and I absolutely loved it there! Now I can go whenever I want!

Whenever. I. want! So happy...

I also finally got the Chia Pet I've always wanted! And stuff for my garden. If you didn't know before, I am a huge plant nut.

Okay, I'm off to see what I can make for dinner when I get home from work. My mom's on vacation and the hub-bub and I have gone thru our rations of Ramen Noodles. My sister took pity on us and invited us over for dinner tonight but there is only so much I'm willing to mooch off of her, she is 8 years younger after all.

I think I have some chicken breasts (that's what she said) in the freezer but I don't think I'm licensed to cook without a recipe so... wish me luck. It's a scary new year!

In Our Thirties Going on 13

My awesome hubby had a surprise for me today. He took me to the Chicago Botanic Garden
Unfortunately my camera was full from pictures I'd taken at the Lincoln Park Zoo last week but I was able to take a few. Scroll with me if you want to giggle.(unless you're and adult adult cuz if you're an adult adult, you might just tell me to grow up and then I'll be sad...)
-
The names of some of the flowers/plants/trees were too funny not to mention. My top three are:

<--Blazing Star Gay Feathers

<-- Chokeberries

-
-
and...
the winner...
BLADDERNUT! AKA -Staphylea pinnata-.
Since I knew you wouldn't believe me, I took some pictures. I can't make this stuff up folks!

Let me say that we had an awesome time but we realized we are still very immature as evidence from the picture on the left. I made some crack (no pun intended) to Andy about how he just wanted to look at a fully naked dude and he responded by saying "Phst! I don't feel at all threatened by him!" and we giggled cuz we are, you know, dorks!

Anyway the best was when a kid of about 6 walked right up to this statue and proceeded to pretend punch him in the ummm... bladdernuts (come on, that was a little funny)! Andy and I busted out laughing and that's when we realized that we may be in our 30s but we still act more like teenagers! And not the cool teenagers mind you, but those dorky ones that laugh at anything!

Andy's lungs have been super strong since he quit smoking a year and a half ago! [please clap with me]
Do you guys want to know the name of the style of this Bonsai tree?
You won't believe me...
Fukinagashi
=Windswept

It was a fun day! I loved it there sooo much, I asked if I could live there but they said no...

Andy was great and his prophetic comment in the car on the way home was interesting. He said 'So your day so far has been nice right?' it was only 3 so I said 'yeah, so far.' I was feeling very peaceful cuz I had found my Zen place but Zennes has no place in the life of Bee!
-
Andy: [at other motorist] 'OH MY GOD GET OFF THE FUCKIN' ROAD FOR SHITSAKE!'
-
Bee holding on for dear life and hoping her ear drums will live to hear another day!
-
Andy: [still at motorist] 'YOU'VE GOTTA BE FUCKIN' KIDDING! GOING AND STOPPING GOING AND STOPPING! WHAT THE FUCK!'
-
Bee: 'Chillax dude!'

Andy: [at beautiful wife who never swears or yells] 'I'M HUNGRY AND MY HEAD HURTS!'
-
Bee: [now ready to jump outta the car] 'STOP THROWING A TANTRUM! YOU'LL EAT SOON YOU BIG BABY!'
-
Side note: It took us 45 minutes to order our food, get it, drive home, take the dogs out and sit down to eat. So Mr. Hyde was around FOR A WHILE!
Love ya Babe!
P.S.
If you're wondering why I did not post any pictures of me... My Ethereal Preternatural beauty cannot transcend onto futuristic gadgets I'm afraid! If someone tries to take a picture of me, my... curse... is that it looks like they took a picture of a toad trying to lick it's eyeball. Yeah, I know. I'm sad about too.
