PSA #4754- The car you love and the man who sabotages it.

Hey! I haven't done a PSA in forever!
Ladies, if your husband ever calls you and is FRANTIC, because he thinks your car is going to die while he's driving home after having taken it to get an oil change, where he found out the thingy that blah blah the battery was corroded, let him know that as long as the car is on and your alternator is working fine, you can actually remove the battery and go on your merry way while singing show tunes.* It won't start again once you turn it off but I'm sure the fairies will fix it. When he got home (after he give me hugs and kisses for not picking up my phone until the seventh time he called) (HEY MAN! I WAS READING!), he showed me how they had jimmy-rigged the thingy so that the car would start.
.

That there is tape. Regular scotch tape. You know, the one you would use to wrap gifts for your loved ones? The one that only sticks to paper or skin (making scary faces by putting tape on your eyelids and then sticking them to your forehead=AWESOME Saturday nights!)?
Please excuse the messy insides. If I would have known I would be sharing the guts of my car, I would have dusted.

This is the best the guys at The Boob Lube could come up with? Have they not heard about duct tape??? It holds the world together!
How about learning a little bit more about cars? Now I have to smell the burning plastic every time I turn on my car! This doesn't let me appreciate the smell of burning tires when I merge into traffic!
.
He was having some difficulty removing the nut because the corrosion was so bad, it had a welding effect on the washer so I decided to help him with my own tools. His are the big ones with the DIRTY blue handles, mine are the cute ones that say IKEA. Then I got bored, because there are only so many new swear words your brain can learn in one day, so I sat in the garden to read my book while he went on grunting a few feet away. At this point I was only 100 pages away from the end of the rambling 750 page book I was reading and I could taste the finish line! (It tasted of human ribs and pasta)
Andy told me I could go inside since he no longer needed my assistance but it was a beautiful weekend here in Chi-townland so I decided to take advantage of the cool breeze (not to mention I wanted to be within hearing distance in case he caused any MORE damage to my Mini Tank or you know, he exploded)!
.
He was finally able to remove all offending metal particles (by sawing them off) that didn't belong in my car and replace the bastard piece that was preventing the juice from making my car hummmmmmmmm (all this is technical stuff so if you don't understand, it's okay).

Ooh Shiny! That's Andy's hand. Isn't it beautiful?? And it's not soft either!
.
There are a couple of things I wish I would have known before this little adventure.
.
I wish I'd known how toxic the white powder on the battery was. You see, after I helped with the untightification of the nut, Andy dared me to stick my whole hand in my mouth before washing it! Yeah, he is soo trying to kill me!

His warning to me this morning was "Let me know if you see sparks" I swear I heard him mumble "If it's not too late..."
.
Other thing is, just because your car is running smoothly (until your husband has it for one hour then everything goes to shit!!!!), it doesn't mean you shouldn't pop the hood and check it out to see if it needs anything like say, a cleaning from the acid overflowing from the battery.

All in all, we both learned something new.

Me: Battery liquids/powders = BAD

Andy: My wife knows more about cars than I do.

*I'm not a mechanic (as you can tell by all my non-technical terms) but I've had a shit-ton of crappy cars which made me learn things the hard way. If you ask my family, they'll tell you I blame any car malfunctions on the alternator.
.
P.S.
Yes, yes. I know we need to replace the battery but I'm gonna wear out that four dollar piece he had to buy first.
.
P.P.S.
I finished the book and will have a review (nothing too detailed) on it another day. Stephenie Meyer fans will hate me but they can take a number and wait at the back of the line along with the weird tourist who was asking for directions to the Sear's Tower and I mistakenly directed him to the Hancock building. I might have been a little tipsy that day.

PSA# 8. Only sweet nothings in my ear…

-Day 64.
I know I know, 2 PSAs in the same week. I just can’t help the fact that I’m such a public servant, not to be confused with servicing the public, please keep the smut outta here, thanks.

Upon my dealings with the underworld-READ ATTORNEYS*-I have had the displeasure of not one, not two, but THREE different people chewing in my ear today.

As much as I LOVE people masticating (which, by the way, is one of the dirtiest non-dirty words I have ever heard) in my ear, I leave that up to my beloved husband. You know, the guy whom I promised to honor love and disobey. In good times, in bad loud-crunching-munching-giving-me-all-kinds-of-gag-reflexes times

If you are not buying me shoes and other accessories, stop your grazing before you call me or you WILL get the following suggestions while on the phone with me.

“Why don't you call me back AFTER you’ve eaten your lunch.”

“WHAT ARE YOU SUCKING ON?”

“I’m sorry, there seems to be a strange noise on the other end of my line. Can you hold a sec while I try to figure out what it is?” and then you’ll hold for 5 minutes until you’ve swallowed and/or died.

This concludes another installment of “Bee: Public Servant, Good Samaritan, Friend, Guide, Mentor etcetera etcetera.”

*If you are, have been, will be, know of, in conjunction to, an attorney, I was speaking of those other ones. The ones who nobody likes because they’re bastards and mean and kick puppy dogs.
.
THOSE.
.
Not YOU.
.
I know you’re cool.
.
You know how I know?
.
Cuz you’re reading my blog.

PSA# 7777 How to negotiate with your spouse.

-Day62. Disclaimer: The following conversation took place prior to my decision to cease all my exclaiming. For the sake of accuracy, I have decided not to remove the exclamation points and leave our exchange exactly as it happened.
.

Bee:
Babe, I've been looking on craigslist for a desk but they're all either really crappy and expensive or nice and super expensive. Can't I just get a new one for about $100? It doesn't have to be spectacular.
.
Andy:
No.
.
Bee:
Geez! I'll pay for half of it!
.
Andy:
No.
.
Bee:
Uh… okaaay. You know I can just go get it if I want to, right? I mean, you're not the boss of me!
.
Andy:
Listen Bee, you're online too much. Now you want a desk to BLOG? I think you're an addict.
.
Bee:
You know what? You're right! Maybe we can start spending more time together you and I. Go for long romantic walks. Sit on the sofa and watch chick flix while my head is on your shoulder. Have long discussions about politics, religion, global warming…
.
Andy:
Uh…
.
Bee:
Maybe I can just put up the banquet table in your dungeon and we can share THAT space. I'll just blog when you're killing Ogres. That way we can talk about our feelings at the same time. We will always be together.
.
Andy:
Where do you want to start looking for your desk? IKEA? Office Depot? You'll want a chair too, right?

Some may call this blackmail, I prefer to refer to it as an in depth look into my negotiating skills.

Hasta Lumbago!

10 funny "people" you'll "meet" on Humor-Blogs. (Excessive use of quotation marks pisses me off too.)

So…
I’ve gotten a couple of people questioning me in regards to the clicking of Humor-Blogs.

The questions have been:

1) “Do I click from your blog there or from Humor-Blogs to you?”

2) “What do I do once I get there?”

3) “How much money do you make?”

4) "Why do you think you're so cool? Do you think maybe it's all in your head?"
.............................................................
1) Okay, in order for the click to count, you have to click from MY blog (my actual blog and not the Feed) to Humor-Blogs. This will propel me up the ranks to stardom. No, just kidding. I’m not greedy, I’ll settle for the top thirty which is always displayed on the main page.

2) Once you get to Humor-Blogs, stick around and enjoy the funny bloggers. I’m going to give you my personal favorites and tell you why they’re my personal favorites at the end of this post. Well, let’s not call it the end, more like the beginning of a fun new adventure. Or Bee & XYZ’s Excellent Adventure! Queue the air guitars!

3) I make more money than the anorexic twins from Full House put together!
Just kidding.
I don’t make any money off Humor-Blogs, the clicks are for the ranks only.

4) Yes.

........................................................................................
Here are the funnies in no particular order: (After you visit them, click on their Humor-Blogs Icon so that you can keep them on their level of highness. Like I said, I’m not greedy and I like to share the LOVE! And don't get Jell-o these are just my favorite from Humor-Blogs, my other favorites know who you are, right? On with my list)

15 Minute Lunch.

That guy has a way of telling a story that has me prying my eyelids off my eyeballs after I finish reading his posts cuz the moisture has dried from lack of blinking. Plus he has bathroom stories too and I will always have a soft spot for bathroom stories.

Mattress Police Antisocial Commentary

It’s not just cuz he’s the founder of HB, honestly, the guy is funny. His blog is also interactive, he’ll put of pictures of famous and/or funny scenes, photo shop himself in there and creates a caption contest. Anybody can participate. Then you go back and vote for the funniest one.

Predator Press

Postings of an enigmatic funny dude that makes you THINK before you laugh. Did you hear me? You have to think about it first AND THEN LAUGH! But you will laugh.

The Ominous Comma

Be careful when you go over there cuz he is very ominous. You’ll probably laugh while you’re running away from his ominousness.

By the way, those last two are dangerous cuz they like to pick fights and duel, mostly with each other from what I’ve seen but you can never be too careful!

The Poke Show

He brings you a collection of funny, sometimes saucy, videos which you would probably never find on your own. I don’t want to know how he does it. Life is better with some mystery I always say. Okay, that’s the first time I’ve ever said that but I will from now on.

The Frog Bog

Frogster has been seen here now and then and he was the one that conducted the review of yours truly. Now now, don’t get mad at him since he was being fair. He has admitted to being a male housewife so you have to go check out some of his stories. He makes a better housewife than I do and less hairy.

The Blog of Bex, and On Many Subjects.

The reason I combined these two is cuz they tell you about their everyday lives (not with each other, I think they live in different states) in a humorous, sometimes a little grossy manner.

I think that’s it. I think I’m done oh… wait a minute!! I saved the best for last!

The Great The Unshakable The Fantastic Elastic The Smiling Infidel!!!!!

You guys all know I have special love for her since we're long distance kin. She and I have the same initials... only, substitute her first letter to a B and we could be interchangeable twins. Well, I’m sure her Papi and my Poli (Spanish slang for Cop, Warden, Pistol Whipper) (no, it has nothing to do with him being of Polish decent) wouldn’t like that one little bit so maybe we won’t do any type of INTER GALACTIC Wife Swap any time soon.

Anyway, let me tell you a cheesy story on how I came to find her.
It all started in a little village outside of Verona… no, that’s not it…

Once upon a time in a kingdom far far awa-…

Whatever man, just read her cuz she’s funny and then click on her Humor-Blog link and then come back and tell me how funny you think she is!

The end!

P.S.

Please click for me too. Please, pretty please.

PSA# 1712 Unacceptable term of endearment

-Day 15. Life is uncertain; eat dessert first. -Nancy Bukauskas
Husband to wife.

"Give me a hug, my little chunky monkey!"

Bad! Bad husband!

I don't object to "monkey", who wouldn't want to be a limber little trouble maker, it's the "chunky" part that makes me want to throw feces.

On a completely UNRELATED subject, I gained 4 pounds from October to now!

PSA# 5478 Hacking vs Coughing.

-Day 5 in my quest to not bore your lives with my everyday "musings". Musings... HA! More like mumblings! My dogs keep asking me when I'll give up, they mock me and call me names. One of their favorites is "Woofbarkwoofwoof!!" I don't know what that means but I know they're being jerky!-
.
Bad news.
I am now coming down with a cold. I know what you're gonna say "What? I don't think I can take your complaining anymore!" Well, you know what I'm gonna tell you, click Humor-Blogs on your way out.

Anyway, I want to give my fellow women some advice. When you're sick with an infectious disease, please don't spread it around as if it were cream cheese on a bagel!

This is the proper way:
Lady-like way to cough.
::cough. cough. cough.::
Into a hankie.

Wrong way:
Unlady-like way to hack.
HHJJHHAAACKKKK!! JUACCCKKK!!! JUACCCKKKAAACKK!!!
Into EVERYBODY'S FACE!!

Thanks allot Milton you disease-infested-super-germaniac!!!
Now I’m dying of a cold! Anonymous will be so upset!
.
By the way, if you're wondering why I would put a link to my shameful review, quite simply it's because I have no shame! Nah, the reviews weren't that bad but the score was pitiful. PITY-FULL! ;o)

The Greeks strike again!

Only instead of using a wooden horse they came at us with such delicacies as Gyro makings, Spanakopita (spinach pie), garlic spread, Greek bread and salad. This was brought to us by a Greek Surgeon who has some partnership with OZ. Unfortunately, he brought the food after everyone but me had eaten. You can imagine the fight to divide the yummy food!
.
This one doesn't like spinach so wants more gyro meat.-Denied!
This one wants to take a bag of salad.-Denied!
This one doesn't want garlic spread but wants extra bread.-Denied!
.
Finally, as acting Kitchen Marm for this week, I made the decision to keep the food in the fridge and not have people take any home. Right now, you're wondering if I have that power. I guess I do but I won't let it go to my head. [much!]
They are to eat it in the office only! Take that you beastly bats! Ha Ha Ha!
The look on their faces was priceless!
.
We now interrupt your regularly schedule nonsense blogus to bring you the following sports word:
.
Now, I'm not a sports fan.
AT ALL!
I listen to my brothers and Andy go on and on while I'm rearranging my shoe collection in my head. I'm happy when our home teams win but normally I can't be bothered. But... this time I have an opinion.
.
Andy was going to watch the Chicago Bears game on Monday night when this dude by the name of Tony Kornheiser (Oh the things we could do to that cornball name!) came on and berated the Bears by saying they thought their opponents would cower in fear just by looking at their uniforms and all they had to do was show up.
.
He then claimed what the Bears had was hubris (according to my research it's: exaggerated self pride or self-confidence; overbearing pride, often resulting in fatal retribution) as I said, I am not a sports fan but I said to Andy: "What a pompous asshole!" I immediately looked up his name along with the word hubris and was surprised (no, not really.) to find he had written the same thing about Bode Miller on 2/27/06.
.
So, not only is he a pompous asshole, he's a pompous asshole that recycles his own garbage! Big hand of applause to Tony Kornhieser [<-click if you'd like to read his 2006 article] for not having enough creativity to write something original therefore resorting to recycling his horse shit! Nuff said.
.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
!!--- I can't!---!!
I'm so ticked off by that guy I can't see straight!
Instead, I'm gonna congratulate the Chicago Cubs for signing a new player from Japan. He has a difficult name to pronounce so I'd like to help you in case you ever have to say it while using the word "hubris". You can consider this a sports PSA.

FUK*U*DO*ME
*
That there name should be in the Hall of Fame along with Dick Butkus!
Famous Bear linebacker according to wiki. I was just informed Dick Butkus is in the hall of fame... oops! ;o)
.
Okey dokey, I'm done for the night. We have now talked about Greek food, Greek Words, Pompous A-holes and Sports. I'm off to watch Superman Doomsday (cartoon) with Andy.
I read the comic (forced by Andy) and cried because... LOOK AWAY IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ENDING! Superman... DIES! ::sniff sniff::
.
Raise your hand if you hate Lois Lane!
.
Wow, just me huh...

PSA# 888 The dangers of Peanut Brittle.

1) If it’s too hard it may hurt your teeth.

2) If it’s to mushy-ish it may get stuck on your teeth.

3) If it’s just right, you might eat the whole box and then:
a- your jaw will hurt
b- your stomach will hurt
c- your butt will get bigger.

BEWARE OF PEANUT BRITTLE!!

Don't laugh! I'm serious!

Also, have you noticed that I am know making words better by just adding "-ish" or "-er"? Don't tell Chris at The Avant Garden cuz she has a thing for grammar... ;op

PSA #547-- 2 for the price of 1!

So... I know I did one on Friday but something happened to me this morning that all women should be made aware (and some men, I don't judge)!
-

First part of PSA:

-

Ladies, after you take your shower and dry your gorgeous body, make sure the toilet seat is down before you bend over [BWAHAHA!] to dry your hair and put it in our classic after shower turban style. Why? ... ... ...

One end of the towel might go into the toilet without you realizing it and you won't find out until after you've twisted the towel, stood up and the soaked end is dripping down your clean naked back! ::shiver!::

-

If this does happen, you have no choice but to take another shower.

-

Second Part of PSA:

-

Husbands:

If your wife tells you she's going to take a shower and you call her cell phone while she's in the shower, chances are... she will not pick up the call!

-

DO NOT GET ANGRY!

-

What? Do you want her to get electrocuted?

Is death your master plan?

Like In "Dial M for Murder"?

-

Jack Asses!

-

Disclaimer:

-

The second part of the PSA does no reflect any true life events, it is purely fictional and does not have anything to do with Andy calling me while I was in the shower to ask me something about toilet paper while he was at the grocery store.

DON'T LET YOUR KID GO ON THIS SLIDE!!

Unless you'd like some cole slaw...

Polly Pockets Does PSA.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I were at the store. We were going to meet my sister and Natalia for lunch so I wanted to get her a little something as a gesture of me trying to buy her love (Natalia's not my sister's).
I walked around the toy aisle looking for Polly Pockets stuff since I know she loves it.
After 3 laps around the aisle I found nothing. Ziltch! Nada!
Then I remembered the whole tainted paint/magnets = illness/death controversy...

Oops!

I decided to contact Polly Pockets and ask her what her thoughts were.
This is her statement:

"I am very upset me and my friends have been making kids sick and want to make it up to the parents. I'm shooting some Public Service Announcements regarding the dangers of drinking and driving that will hopefully help us get back in their good graces."

-

I asked Polly (she said I could call her Polly) if she would be able to send me some pictures so that I may put them on my blog. She said coolio and sent me the pics below.

-
I did ask her why there was an Octopus and a Seal in the shots but she said it was supposed to be a "contemporary" PSA that also showed the things you might be seeing under the influence...

-
Huh! Maybe that's why I see fictional characters in my daily life. I learn something new everyday!
-
P.S.
No booze was harmed in the making of this PSA.

Public Service Announcement #135

If you take tomatoes home from the office on Friday.
If they spill out of the plastic bag in your car on Friday.
If you think you’ve picked them all up on Friday.
If you have a few 80º days from Friday to Wednesday.
If you drop your cell phone for the 1 millionth time (okay more like fling it in annoyance) on Wednesday.
If you find it under the seat along with something squishy...

It means you did not pick up all the FREAKIN' tomatoes!

PSA: Don't leave tomatoes in a hot car for more than 1 day tops.

Yeah, I thought the tomatoes had no relevance in my Dance of the Windbags story, how was I to know it was Karma payback?

Don’t make fun of me... I’m armed and dangerous! Rotten Tomatoes will come flying your way!

P.S.

In my research to get pictures of rotten tomatoes, the cyber gods decided to punish my impudence by providing me with pictures of 30 or so half nahhkked women and only 5 or so pictures of tomatoes...??????

It's a good thing I'm at work and not at home... oh wait, maybe that should be the other way around...?

Speaking of HOT tomatoes... Paul Walker! (he came up on my search too???)

-

P.P.S.

::sigh::

Why didn't anybody tell me there was an Elvis special on TV last night?? I came into it half an hour late!

2 Public Service Announcements! 1 Question. + Dance Music

1)
If you are washing a jar that once had Crushed Red Pepper... DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TOUCH YOUR EYES!

Wash your hands for at least 3 days straight! And even then, touch somebody else's eyes first (preferrably somebody you dislike, if you don't have someone matching that description, let me know. Off the top of my head I can think of 20 people I can let you borrow.)

2)
Condensation can be dangerous!! Don't ask me what type! All types!!
Especially on sweaty beer bottles that tend to slide from your hands as you're about to drink and then you wind up cutting your lip with your own tooth! Uh... This didn't happen to me it happened to my friend uhm... candle yeah Candle!

Question:
Why are candles so freakin' expensive?!

Okay enough for today, I have to put some frozen buffalo wings in the oven. Oh... I meant to type "I need to make Andy a nice big steak for dinner"

I will leave you with the following lyrics. ::sigh:: it was originally gonna be Funky Town but the internet gods have decided to hide it from me.
So second choice: Marky Mark and Funky Bunch with Good Vibrations...

Yeah can you feel it baby I can too
Come on swing it
It's such a good vibration
It's such a sweet sensation (2x)
Yo it's about that time to bring forth
the rhythm and the rhyme
I'm a get mine so get yours
I wanna see sweat comin' out your pores
On the house tip is how I'm swinging this
strictly hip hop boy
I ain't singing this
Bringing this to the entire nation black, white, red, brown
feel the vibration
Come on come on Feel it feel it Feel the vibration
It's such a good vibration

It's such a sweet sensation (2x)
Vibrations good like Sunkist
Many wanna know who done this
Marky Mark and I'm here to move you
Rhymes will groove you
Come on come on Feel it feel it
Feel the vibration
(not all the lyrics just the important parts)
